3.0 out of 5 stars DVD REGION 1 - Unable to Use. 6 Feb 2013
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
When I bought this DVD did not realise it was Region 1.
So , looked again and found VHS tape, arrived as new ,
but thought story line a bit weak. Shirley MacLaine still Great.

Of dear! It's embarrassing to see such well loved actresses brought to this. Don't watch and keep your memories in tact

4.0 out of 5 stars Its not bad - really 3 Jan 2013
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This film is not as bad as some reviewers make out. Its a silly, cheesy story but they all look like they are having fun and when or where else will you see these four divas together in one film. Shirley Maclaine is the most forceful but Elizabeth Taylor is slightly cringe worthy and is not in too many scenes which is just as well. Maybe they all needed money in real life so agreed to making this but what the heck - it was never meant to be a serious piece of cinema !

1.0 out of 5 stars these old frauds 9 Aug 2010
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
with a stellar cast like this and a dead cert story line you'd expect great things.WRONG! these old frauds seem to just be going through the motions (maybe they had taxes due that needed to be paid).the premise is great with chances of witty, caustic bichiness as collins, reynolds and mclaine play the part of an old feuding girl singing group and taylor as their agent arranging a tv special reuniting them.what you actually get is joan collins revealing more of that tired old body any chance she gets, elizabeth taylor hamming it up in the worst way, debbie reynolds filmed through about 6 feet of gauze and shirley maclaine reprising her "postcards from the edge" persona.presumably aimed at the "pink pound/dollar" this tries SO hard to be "camp" with them even going to a gay bar and doing a routine but it just dosn't work and ends up just being cringeworthy.such a wasted opportunity.you'd have more fun at an autopsy

Not only did mans journey into space peak between 1969 and 1972 during which the 12 (only what ? 8 left alive) men who walked on the moon did their stuff : music also peaked during those years. The rest is just winding down and fiddling about. 15 1 hour ago
