I bought two of these, one blue and one black, for my teenage son and high schooler daughter. I have been very pleased indeed. The quality of the materials is excellent, and the design is very good. The upper compartment holds anything from a pouched drink to a bottle of water, and has room to spare for a cool pack in warmer weather. It opens easily with a zipper at one end. The lower compartment unzips on three sides so you can flip the lid back like a treasure chest, making it easy to pack. It holds a good amount of food, and just about holds a small thermal food jar or flask. I can't comment on how well it keeps things cool as it is winter, but on the heat retention I can say that fresh bacon sandwiches put in at 7 am were still just about warm at 12. Finally, the handle has a comfortable roll of padding in the middle so it is comfortable to carry for a long time even if filled with heavy things like a flask.

Packs a lot given that it looks small. Easy to carry and hubby loves it. Saves him carrying one of the girls pink lunch box to work loollll. Not that it affected his masculinity, you have to work with what you have got.
