5.0 out of 5 stars Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler, 1 Sep 2010
This summer (2010), both my computers were getting very hot, one would even freeze up and re-start, the other would run at 60 degrees centigrade at idle, I then read a review in Custom PC magazine for the Thermaltake Frio, liked the look of it and ordered one.
Once fitted and running, the pc that used to freeze and shut down now runs at idle around 35 degrees and even under full sustained load only reaches around 47 degrees max, and this is with the thermaltake's fan at it's lowest speed!. With this result I had no hesitation of ordering one for my other pc, one problem did appear though with this pc in that it has quite an old case and when I tried to re-install the motherboard it would not fit as the large heat sink fouled the cross member between the main compartment and the power supply bay, one new case latter and everything is now fine, all this was worth it for vastly reduced temperatures and stability, not to mention the smart new case in place of the old beige one!. Both my pcs are socket 775s so these coolers can be moved at a latter date to newer sockets as and when I upgrade as all the fittings (and enough thermal paste for quite a number of re-fittings) are included for both new Intel sockets and AMD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with it., 30 July 2011

This review is from: Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler (Electronics)
I have finished building my own spec pc and I brought this cpu fan to go on my i5 2500k sandybridge, after reading other reviews and doing my own research I brought this fan. I'm very happy with it but can't compare it with others as I have not tried anything else. My pc stays cool even with high end games and I have no probs with noise issues either.

Bought this after reading good reviews on it.
Have to say I was surprised by its size, but fitting was no problem(make sure your case is big enough to take it) and and is very good at what it does.
It is sitting on an AMD 1090T SIX CORE CPU and at idle it is about 34 and after some serious gaming goes up to 40 degrees.

So if you can fit it in its recomended.
