From Amazon.co.uk

There's Something About Mary is one of the funniest films in years, recalling the days of the Zucker-Abraham-Zucker movies, in which (often tasteless) gags were piled on at a fierce rate. The difference is that co-writers and co-directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly have also crafted a credible story line and even tossed in some genuine emotional content. The Farrelly brothers' first two pictures, Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin, had some moments of uproarious laughter, but were uneven. With Mary, they've created a consistently hilarious romantic comedy, made all the funnier by the fact that you know that they know that some of their gags go way over the line.

Cameron Diaz stars as Mary, every guy's ideal. Ben Stiller plays a high-school suitor still hung up on her years later; the obstacles standing between him and her include a number of psychotic suitors, a miserable little pooch and, oh yeah, a murder charge. The Farrellys' admittedly simplistic camera work, which adapts easily to a TV screen, and the fact that you'll likely to laugh yourself so silly over certain scenes you'll want to replay them to see what you were missing while you were busy convulsing, make this a perfect film for home-viewing. --David Kronke, Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 stars We've got a bleeder... 23 Feb 2006
Format:DVD
Here is the most tasteless, low brow comedy of the 90s. It is also the funniest. There really is no accounting for taste. Mary will make you laugh from your gut more than any other film that has been made. A number of its scenes have already passed into legend. Many are more memorable because of their audacity - the hair gel scene - than their belly laugh quota. Certainly, the funnier scenes involve Matt Dillon resurrecting a poochie and Stiller having to deal with the neighbourhood taking a gander at his frank and beans. The Farrellys know what makes people giggle but they also know how to tell a story and Mary's love story is improbably sweet - mainly due to Diaz. Dillon's performance is also noteworthy in its comic expertise, a skill that Hollywood far too often fails to invest in. If you're not easily offended, this film is a classic, an absolute blast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic 14 Feb 2004
Format:DVD
I dont understand why there haven't beem more reviews for this because it is just so funny. I haven't seen this for ages but i can basically remember the plot. There are a few guys chasing this one girl ( cameron diaz). Ben stiller is involved who makes the whole thing evem more hilariously funny than before. This is one of those films that will have you laughing all the way through and not just snigger snigger, more like having to stop the dvd whilst you finish laughing.

EXCELLENT STUFF
