There are many noteable songs on the album, such as "There's A Fire", an upbeat Stokes-like song with a catchy tune that highlights Longwave's tendency to use metaphor extensively in their lyrics. "Heart Attack" is a slower and more emotive song, however, reflecting Longwave's more sensitive side. With plenty of atmosphere due to a highly sustained lead guitar, it is easy to be swept away by the music. Other strong points include the catchy "Tell Me I'm Wrong", the rocking "We're Not Gonna Crack" and, my personal favourite, the emotive "Fall On Every Whim."
The conclusion is simple. Longwave's "There's A Fire" will not provide you with highly technical music - there are no noteable guitar solos or complex rhythms, for example - and it is unlikely to provide any tracks that will gain a large amount of radio play. However, if you like this genre of music, and you have an ear for interesting lyrics, atmosphere and/or emotion, then this is an album worth getting.
