I found this book hilarious. I bought it to read to my Beaver Scouts (6-8 yr olds), but my 11 year old son has run off with it. We especially love 'the reptile rap' and 'monday's child'. Colin Mcnaughton knows exactly how to write for children, and this is evident by the laughter I hear whilst reading his poems out loud.

Hope this comes back in print soon. This is a must to read aloud to children. Guaranteed to lift the family's spirit.

I bought this book for my son who is way too young (16 months) to enjoy it, however I had this book as a child and absoloutely loved it. It is a incredibly funny and well illustrated book of ridiculous verse and poems that deserves to be read to any youngster who likes to laugh. I cannot recommend it enough!. that said this copy was a small paperback edition which didnt quite live up to the glossy harback full size edition so I gave it away as a present and bought a big beautiful hardback.

If you have kids who like to be read to - buy this book (in hardback)
