having had a close call eg verge of being diabetic, this was the information i needed to reverse the damage self inflicted by bad diet/yoyo dieting/ fast easy food and too much laptop work not enough activity plus a serious gall bladder infection that took months to get shot of resulting in surgery being the only option to stop infection reoccurring.
i learned a lot from this book, with a lot of excellent info on how the body changes as you age. in particular i was interested in how simple changes - adding chromium and cinnamon and excerise etc was able to - as good as - correct the insulin levels needed to make blood sugar levels drop back to being pre diabetic.
of course this was a self experiement which worked for me, it may not for others and we all know we need to speak to medical people before doing what i did = give it a go and see.
however i will say reading the book is a bit heavy going, i had to fold corners of pages, scribble notes at the back. why ? because the info was that good.
so to summarize - the book is excellent and factual, and to be honest, it has made me change my lifestyle and diet for the better.
if you only get one bit of life changing info from a book then the book is worthwhile.
however - i can assure any reader - you will be going back and fore to this book, it has more info in it than you would think possible.
i hope the NHS insist all GP's have a copy, there's info in it i doubt GP's know about. and yes my sugar has returned to the normal level and i have been successful in preventing myself from being diabetic. i did what was in the book before having a tol.test. therefore i was not recorded as being diabetic and if i continue with my new knowledge it would be unlikely to change.
books are about choice, but i am glad i chose this one to read.
