This is a fabulous little book. If you've ever owned a cat, and/or spent time looking at LOLCats, you'll identify with every game the three felines in the book invite you into. Lots of flaps to lift and opportunities to interact with the story. It's not a pop-up book as such, but uses a bit of paper engineering to make it just a little out of the ordinary. It should be robust enough for careful little hands. Bright colours and not too many words make it fun for littler ones. Though I'll be reading it to my baby, it probably is better for toddlers - the language is all about the action - ie no rhymes, but I think the surprise element of the flaps will probably entertain very small children.

Just amazing. Its a proper interactive journey. A very playful book that had me in stiches. My four year old daughter also enjoyed it. Well worth stepping of the beaten track for and I'm not even much of a fan of real cats.

I totally disagree with the lowest review. I've just purchased this book on the recommendation of The Times and my two children love it. My 11 month old is just starting to have a night time read and it's her favourite. There are many flaps to open and pull out- a ball of wool, boxes to open, cats to meet- she is entertained and enjoys the bold colours of the pictures. The point of the book is that there isn't a strong narrative and children are instructed to turn pages and say good night to the cats, so this is an interesting change to most books for young children. I mostly make up an alternative story alongside the text.
My two year old, who is read her story by her dad at the same time, often demands to read this book after her sister has finished.
Overall, this is colourful, engaging and is on a subject that all toddlers love- cats!
