Product Description

Review

“There is always room for more Agatha… These graphic adaptations dish up the quintessence of Christie. There are, in other words, lurid melodrama, plenty of weird and wonderful coincidences, lashings of period-perfect style and a thorough workout for the little grey cells.” Observer

“Agatha Christie is a classic of her genre. These are good stories. Now they can be accessed in different ways.” Times Educational Supplement

“Along with their brilliantly noirish covers, the books are intended to reinvigorate Christie’s murderous tales… Mixing their quintessentially English tales with a continental taste for comic books, the series will appeal to graphic novel fans who may not otherwise discover Agatha Christie’s most enduring stories.” Velocity Magazine

I was disappointed with this book mainly because it was much, much shorter than the original and so there was little or no suspense or build up. All the atmosphere of the original was lost. The illustrations have none of the drama of the cover art and don't look like any attempt was made to capture either the atmosphere or the time period of the story.

The story itself is incredibly clever, and Agatha Christie's original work is an incredibly exciting read. Buy a proper prose copy and leave this one well alone.

It is a shame, because converting a story to a graphic form can really add something to the experience of reading it - this book just took away.

On the plus side the comic strip stuck to the novel, and didn't change the ending like some of the film versions.

But it was mediocre. The novel is very wordy, and strip was too wordy. And it was too rushed, and should have been given more pages. The artwork was mediocre.
