By Janie
I purchased this baby pillow for my four month old daughter as she has a very flat head at the back. I looked at other baby pillows but decided to give the Theraline pillow a go as the majority seem to be only for babies up to four months old. The baby pillow is very light and small so you can pack it for travel use. It is excellent quality and you can breathe right through it so it appears to be totally safe. I put it under the sheet in her cot and under her play mat when she is lying down during the day for a nap. I have only been using it for a week and my daughter's head is already showing signs of recovery. The flat spot at the back of her head is definitely rounding out already. I would definitely recommend this baby pillow to anyone whose child has a flat head and is worried about it.

Noah arrived 9 weeks early, and a regular issue with premature babies is that they need to be regularly 'rotated' in position as their skulls are still so soft to prevent flatness and normal skull shape development. In hospital this was done by the nurses, who on the whole did a really good job, however Noah loves to sleep on the right side of his head (despite how carefully you'd move his head so it was on the left) and there was quite a pronounced flatness to it and on the back of his head too.

Following the use of this pillow his head is an excellent shape. We can't be sure if the shape of his head would have sorted itself out naturally but it wasn't a risk we wanted to take. Although, possibly a little expensive this is a superb pillow that has done exactly what it's set out to do. It's genuinely breathable (the first things I checked when we brought it home by putting my face in it and expressing genuine surprise at just how breathable). It's quick drying when washed. No complaints from the boy who's head is a really great shape now.

As he's gotten older he's wiggled off it once or twice but only on really restless nights. I should imagine this same issue would be experienced with all pillows of this type.

We'd highly recommend this.

Good but very small 26 Jan 2012
I bought this for my 4 month old son who has a flat spot on the back of his head. Firstly the breathability of the pillow is unbelievable, if you put it tight against your face you can breath perfectly normally through it as if it wasn't there so is an extremely safe solution. However as other people stated it is small and I found it just too small to work. It's a 6 inch square and if your baby is old enough to have any wriggle ability then they will come off it middle of the night. I think you would have to have a very still sleeping probably under 3 month old for this to work effectively. So 5 out of 5 for safety but 2 out of 5 for design as its just too small. We subsequently bought a baby memory foam pillow (which was also cheaper) which works a treat but I would not be happy using (because of lack of breathability) before my baby could lift their head well. So it's good if you spot the flat head problem early enough, but if your baby's older, or wriggles while sleeping look elsewhere.

A complete waste of money
Absolutely awful. So tiny they wouldn't have even helped my babies out when they were first born (they were prem babies and had very small heads then!), let alone now! Read more

A Little Peace of Mind
The pillow did seem to help prevent my son's head becoming more misshapen while he was sleeping on a hard matress. Found it well worth the money.

We were not really convinced on buying this, it seemed a bit expensive for an item that we didn't know would work or not. But it worked brilliantly. Read more
