'Grisham is wise and pragmatic about the world: poor parenting, prescription drug misuse and the violent lives of drifters all feature in this fast-paced tale'

(Financial Times on ABDUCTION )

Praise for THEODORE BOONE:

'Gripping... I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery. I think everyone will be enthralled by Theodore Boone.' (Scholastic News )

'There's a new kid on the young fiction block, and this one really does have serious powers: Theodore Boone, half-boy, half-lawyer... fans will be pleased to know there will be more of Theo's adventures to come.' (Sunday Express )

'If you aspire to turn your children into lawyers who will keep you in your old age, John Grisham's Theodore Boone, his first novel for young people, might be for you'.

(Sunday Times )

'Contemporary lit for young readers has its icons: Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl. Make way for the new kid on the block.' (USA Today )

Praise for John Grisham:

'Nobody does legal fiction better' (Daily Express )

'a master of his craft' (Guardian )

Am an avid Grisham fan, so what has gone wrong?
Has he started writing rubbish to make more money, like another author who rolls out reams of rubbish co authored by someone obviously doing the writing.
Put these two books in the child section, though even Enid Blyton could have produced more tension?
They are terrible, a total waste of money and time.
Mr Grisham you have lost the plot, or the ideas for one.
Very sad.

This is a poor book. It purports to compete with the best of children's books but it is dull, weak and awful. Whilst JK Rowling will get kids reading, this will put them off books. Gave up before completing the book and don't actually care about the outcome - no suspense, character development or thrill (as in thriller). My daughter hated it more than I.

NOT GOOD!! 6 July 2011
Format:Hardcover
Whoever wrote the blurb for this book should be arrested under the Trade Descriptions Act. The blurb is much more exciting than the whole book. Waste of reading time. If a teenager had written this for their English lesson, then it's excellent.... but this is John Grisham!

So very poor
I had no idea this was a child's book when I bought cheaply in the supermarket. To suggest I was disappointed would be the understatement of the year. Read more

Bought in error
I stupidly failed to realise that this book is for "younger readers" - and it took about thirty pages before I realised why my attention kept wandering. Read more

Easy reading but not at Grisham classic
Easy to read second Theodore Boone novel.
Quite entertaining and a good pace but not much depth to the plot.
I probably won't read the next book in this series.

terribly dull - is this really Grisham?
Got half way through before I realised (a) it's a short book, and a real rip-off, and (b) it's terribly, terribly dull. Read more

Not what I was expecting
Be careful if you buy this one . This is a book intended for teenagers . It does not have much of plot and it is definitely not very exciting . Read more

A book for kids
I, like others on here, bought this book without knowing it was for kids/young adults. Nowhere on the book cover or inside does it say it is aimed at that market and boy, does it... Read more
