4.0 out of 5 stars A good old fashioned adventure game..., 6 Mar 2008
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
I love adventure games, ever since playing monkey island years ago. When I heard about this game, I thought, at last! a new adventure game in the classic style but for the Wii!!

I haven't read the book, but I am enjoying the game. You really have to think to solve the puzzles, and it uses the wii controls to make it a bit more interactive - e.g if you have to dig for a clue, you literally have to dig!

Got to admit that I'm a bit stuck at the moment and therefore my interest is waning, but it'll be all the more satisfying to make a breakthrough!

Not graphically fantastic but a good adventure game nonetheless.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ten little sailor boys..., 2 Mar 2008

Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
You play as the 11th character Patrick Narracott who takes the ten guests out to Shipwreck Island. You soon discover theres something not right when people start dying in ways that are described in a nursery rythm.

Graphically it isn't stunning and you find the characters faces don't portray the sense of anger, fear, and dread these people should be feeling when there getting killed off one by one.

Gameplay is frustrating at times because its not always clear what your objective is to progress through the story. Controls are ok, but at times can feels unresponsive when digging, pumbing for water ect. The voice talents are a plus point in this game.

There is five endings and 10 hours worth of playtime but all endings can be seen if you make four seperate save files in Chapter Nine. But unfortunately the game isn't as entertaining or clever as book was. And the replay value is nonexsistant. But worth a look nonetheless if you like this type of genre like I do.

a hundred times better than the 'shoot everything that moves' type games usually on the wii. if you want a puzzle and a challenge this is heaps of fun. kept me entertained for hours. 10/10
