Medium Rare 29 Jan 2011
By Dr. George L. Sik TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
What a superb read! At once a gripping thriller that never lets go and a darkly comic satire about showbusiness, fake psychic (is there any other kind?) Nick Santini encounters a suspicious death and watches his life implode. The characters are maginificently drawn, including his sleazy, thieving agent Tony and unfathomable detective Brewster. There are two interwoven narratives, one covering how Nick arrived at the point where the book begins and one that reveals what happened next. In the hands of a lesser writer this could be incredibly annoying, but here it works a treat.

Like some of the other reviewers, I was only familiar with Neil Forsyth's Delete This at Your Peril featuring Bob Servant, the Henry Root of the digital age. I therefore knew that this would be funny but I hadn't guessed how compelling and well-constructed a whodunit (or perhaps a whatthehellisgoingon) it would turn out to be.

Highly recommended!

Great read. 15 Dec 2009
By W. Loh
Format:Paperback
This is the first book by Forsyth that i've read and i believe it's his first novel. Having read it i think i'll try some of his non-fiction stuff, though that's not usually my cup of tea. Anyway, Let Them Come Through... having read the blurb i quite fancied the idea of something that could help debunk and discredit bad TV, peddlers of nonsense and rip-off merchants. This ticked all the boxes and then some: fast, funny, at some points filthy, dark and addictive. You almost feel sorry for the suckers getting ripped off... but not quite.
Thoroughly enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend it.
(Oh, and my sister enjoyed it too, and she likes all that medium/Derren Brown stuff!)

Great fiction debut 15 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
It's always a joy to discover an exciting debut novelist and Forsyth is a gem. I enjoyed his humour - dry, clever - in Delete This At Your Peril where he posed as 'Bob Servant' and replied to email spammers. His humour continues in Let Them Come Through but it's far more than funny. It could be described as a fast-paced crime novel but there's also a really gritty, contemporary theme to the narrative. The lead man, Nick Santini, is a celebrity medium and this in itself is unusual as a theme. It's incredibly well-researched and offers insght into what goes on behind the crystal balls and tv medium shows. It also deals with relationships between friends, family, enemies and lovers - often dark, subtle and believable. Well worth a read.
