5.0 out of 5 stars The Prodigy 19 Oct 2005
Format:Audio CD
The Prodigy are without doubt one of the defining bands of our generation, nothing can compare or even top them. I recently purchased the limited edition and it is a fantasic buy. On cd1 you get a selection of previously released tracks such as the great Firestarter and Breathe. On cd2 you get a load of live and remixed songs, such as the new Voodoo People Pendulum remix. Along with the limited edition album you receive a picture booklet which is a nice add-on.
Basically if you are a Prodigy fan and have all their albums, then buy this mainly for cd2 and to show your respect for the band. If you have never owned a Prodigy cd then buy this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crank it up to eleven!!! 19 Oct 2005
Format:Audio CD
Awesome!! There are so few bands that can cross genres and continually re-define themselves to stay one step ahead of their peers. This album is testament to the incredible musical journey that the Prodigy have made over the last 15 years.
The track-listing is spot on, digging up 'old skool' classics for the nostalgic raver in us all, as well as picking out the anthems that transformed the Prodigy from underground heroes to Glastonbury headliners. Disc two contains some cracking old B-sides and a mix of live tracks that illustrate just what an awesome spectacle these guys are live!
The hardened vinyl junkie will have heard a lot of the 'bonus material' before, but even the most cynical fan would be mad not to add this to their collection.
Fifteen years older and fifteen years better - good work fellas!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Definitive Prodigy 2 Aug 2005
Format:Audio CD
The Prodigy has always been a very talented and innovative group, starting in the early '90s on the underground scene and developing from there. Across the 15 years of making quality music, they have scored 3 number 1 albums ('Music For the Jilted Generation', 'Fat of the Land' and their recent album, the superb 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned') as well as multiple top 10 hits, including 2 number 1s, one of which, 'Firestarter' held it place in the UK charts for almost 8 months.
Prodigy were so big in the mid '90s that their 1997 album 'Fat of the Land' managed to secure the US number 1 slot, further more obscure that a British act of such genre would achieve so highly, although rightly deserved. Each of their singles shows great talent and a large deal of time and effort put in, this is experimental stuff, but the formula produces the perfect output, each song is different from the last and listening to this Singles: 1990-2005 album, you will recognise some tunes instantly as the majority were used in advertisements and film, try "(You'll Be) Under My Wheels" or "Spitfire", although every song here is a sure-fire hit.
While you have the chance, snap this limited edition album up, browsing the bonus disc selection, it is definitely worth the extra 3 (which is the cost of a CD single) including many live versions of their classic hits (and the Prodigy are amazing and incredibly diverse live) and as an extra bonus, includes some brand new hits which will become singles, such as the incredible "Back 2 School" recently performed at 'T in the Park', which isn't available on the regular version of this collection.
To sum it up, if you haven't heard much of the Prodigy, or own just a few of their songs, buy this collection, I'm pretty sure you'll soon be wanting more from their superb back-catalogue.
Good news, Prodigy fans; The Prodigy have announced they are releasing a brand new studio album in 2006.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmm... 9 Jan 2006
Format:Audio CD
On reading the tracklistings this double compilation gives the impression of being a good mixture of songs. I will admit though that my favourite album by a county mile is Jilted Generation. The offering has a bunch of middle of the road tracks on CD2 and on the first CD all the best tracks are from Jilted Genaration. One thing that went against the grain was the omission of 3 Kilos, which should have easily replaced one of the brain numming tracks on CD2.
For hardcore fans only I think, otherwise just buy Music for the Jilted Generation!

5.0 out of 5 stars Live by "Their Law" 22 Oct 2005
Format:Audio CD
For me, the Prodigy are the most important British band of the nineties. Their music is innovative and unlike anything else around.
Their greatest hits album showcases their work as they transform from a rave era band into dance-metal pioneers. It includes some of their most famous works from Charley (which spawned a host of copycat sampling records) through to Firestarter (famous for having a video deemed to frightening for Top of the Pops) and then tracks from their last album.
My only disappointment with this album is that there are three prodigy singles that are missing. Baby's Got a temper was a top 5 hit in 2001, Fire was the double A side from the Jericho single, and Where Evil Lurks was the first ever Prodigy release (and all but impossible to get hold of). These tracks, along with the ultra-rare Mindfields (Monkey Mafia Remix) mean that this album is not quite the ultimate Prodigy collection.
Hopefuly that will come out in another 15 years time.
