I'm not sure why the first reviewer says that the videos might stop you liking the band. In my opinion they only help to take you through the bands journey. The early videos encaptulate the band in the hay day of British rave culture. These videos look a little childish because thats what the rave culture was about. People packed in to warehouses dancing with glow sticks, blowing whistles and wearing glow in the dark face masks. The earlier videos perfectly capture this time. The next set of videos from Music for the Jilted Generation perfectly capture the dark grungy development of the band. Each video is a little darker as we progress in to the next album the fat of the land. Here we have ground breaking videos like firestarter and breathe. The prodigy managed to inspire me time and time again with each album they released. Liam Howlett managed to perfectly capture dance culture at that time of each release and has kept the music fresh for almost two decades. I feel that this dvd only helps you realise how important the Prodigy were to the rave culture and ultimately the house music culture of today. The prodigy helped develop house music in to the main stream and have been at the cutting edge for a long time now. If this dvd doesn't help you to understand the band and therefore enjoy their music more, then you don't understand what they are about.

And finally you get a live concert from Brixton Academy, which is fantastic.

I would certainly recommend this dvd to anyone who is a die hard fan of the prodigy, but also to anyone who wants to see a flashback of rave culture in its hay day glow sticks and all.

Prodigy Compilation 27 Oct 2005
Format:DVD
This is a great compilation of live Prodigy songs and videos. The DVD has alll the greatest videos, live gig from Brixton 1997, extras such as behind the scenes where you see the lads chilling in between filming. The DVD also has 3 extra live tracks - Their Law, Break And Enter and Spitfire. On the dvd it also has a hidden feature, that is a AONO demo mix, which is pretty smart to watch and hear!

All in all this DVD has all the best videos and a great live gig, plus many extras and is a really good buy due to the large amount of content on the disc!

The unique force-welding of the ecstatic vibe of rave, the spit-in-your-soup boggle-eyed fury of punk, laid atop the nastiest hip-hop breakbeats and buzzsaw guitars of heavy metal certainly place The Prodigy in a saleable position the envy of their peers - Leftfield never made it, Underworld have 'taken their work back undergound' and The Chemical Brothers survive year-on-year as festival draws, their recorded output passing by without too much fuss. Such vision on The Prodigy's part is due entirely to Liam Howlett, who, like Dr Frankenstein, has managed to jump-start a lumbering, noisy, unnatural, thrilling monster which ticks enough boxes to allow different demographics to claim allegiance. The old-school ravers still get their drug-fuelled fill from 'Charly' and 'Out Of Space' the newpunks can thrash around to 'Firestarter' and 'Breathe' and the metal brigade can get their rocks off to 'Spitfire' and 'Baby's Got A Temper' (all of which are included). So The Prodigy then - part catharsis, part cartoon nightmare, all with the middle fingers of both fists rammed right up your nose.
