I was lucky to be living in Sweden when Atomic Swing's first CD, A Car Crash in the Blue, came out. Smile and Stone Me into the Groove were all over the radio, including Bandit 105.5FM, an American radio station based in Stockholm. Those were halcyon days! This band seemed to channel the best of 70s music into the 90s, with infectious, groovy music and catchy lyrics. I regret never getting to see them live; we saw a lot of other bands, but never managed to catch Atomic Swing. I treasure my copies of A Car Crash in the Blue and Bossanova Swapmeet, and I'm very glad that this 'best of' CD is available. I wish that the band had had more exposure here in the States, but we tend to be very ignorant when it comes to music from other countries. If you like catchy, tuneful music, which can be both playful and serious, I would recommend giving Atomic Swing a listen. I know it always puts a smile on MY face :-)

The best rockblues band of sweden.

I have always liked the music from Atomic Swing, cos since a first heard "in The Dust", on a swedish radiochannel, i liked it directly, i great song, it has a great swingin sound. The first time i heard that song, was in 1993. Since then i have always liked these guys. This band is in these days a very forgotten band, and maybe a little bit underrestimated. And this is wrong and bad. But i understand why, they did'nt got som big popularity , whith their last studioalbum, fluff, from 1997. They was big in sweden and europe, and japan, in -92-95. A car Chrash in the blue, and Bossanova swap meat is very good albums. And all the songs on this Best Of album is terrific and very catchy. Too bad, that there is'nt any live-album of these guys, and no videos either. But thats not a big problem. The best bands in Sweden is Atomic Swing, Kent, and Roxette. Thats my opinion. Atomic Swings music is a mix of rockblues and pop whith some good inspiration from 70's rockmusic, and the 90's poprock. So it really swingin on this record. It's an outsider-album, so do something unusual, in these days, buy this forgoten record. /Bye.

The POP in blue

The first time I've ever heard Atomic Swing I was really surprised because of their great guitars and their magnificent style. Recently I listened again the old discos of A.S. and I find a new point of view. The vocals, the lyrics and the atmosphere that creates this classic band I'm sure will make you squeeze. Come on and try it. It is very easy. Don't go on without listening STONE ME INTO THE GROOVE.
