Great little light!!! 25 May 2010
This is a great little reading light!

I works great and is quite bright! I love the way you can bend it to put it closer/further away from the page!
(It takes tiny round batteries which is not mentioned on the page.)

The colour is lovely!

I Definatley recommend it!! :-)

The good:

Looks nice, well designed, nice colour.
Gives a good illumination of your book (when its working)

The bad:

When it works the batteries don't last long, its 3x tiny button cells to replace each time, so it'll cost a bit to keep running over its life.
After gently attaching, and using for a few nights in a row its been nothing but bother:

The first night after 20 mins reading in bed it noticeably dimmed to half the light output over about 30 seconds, then stayed at this low level.
The second night it came on dim and started flickering between dim and bright erratically.
The third night I had to give up, it started giving a disco light display of random combinations of: off, dim, a bit less dim and bright.
After this I had to give up, no obvious problem point, such as the switch, or the joint in the neck it just simply doesn't work as required

To summarise:

For 20 mins I had no problems, after that it got progressively worse until it changed from being a nice looking reading light to being a nice looking paperweight.
If it worked more than 20 mins I'd give it 4 stars, but to be blunt its a waste of time.

I bought this light so that I can read my new Kindle in dimly lit conditions. It's very small and isn't heavy.

I started off trying to clip it directly to the Kindle but I found that I had to really push it into place otherwise it would suddenly pop off. This wasn't ideal as the clip part of the light ended up overlapping the top edge of the Kindle screen.

However, I didn't use it that way for long as I had ordered a Eco-Nique Natural Hemp Brown Case to keep my Kindle protected in my bag / pocket and I found it much easier to clip the lamp onto the cover. With both the case and lamp fitted the whole package is still very light in my hand and I can still read one handed without getting a tired wrist.

The light the lamp casts is not glaring so it's comfortable to read by. You can angle the top arm of the lamp so that the light is nicely dispersed on the page and you can't see the glow of the bulb.

My only real concern is that the LR41 batteries that the lamp uses are very small and may be a bit fiddly to change. They are this type: 10 X GP AG3 192 LR41 Alkaline batteries Strip of 10

I hope this review has been useful to you.
