Normally I regard my girlfriend's books with the disdain that they deserve. However, never let it be said that we blokes can't admit when we're in the wrong! THE NEXT BIG THING is totally hilarious. Although the crap jacket would have you believe that it's yet another girl meets boy predictable yawn, in fact this novel is a clever, original piss take of 'cool hunting' or trend setting. Some of the one liners are so good I am actually jealous! This is one author with a really quirky, wicked sense of humour and a real eye for the ridiculous. What I just can't understand is why Sara Caspian is not a bestseller because take it from me, this book is streets ahead of most of the women's fiction that my girlfriend and other women are wasting their time on. So if you want a highly original and witty read, buy this book. You'll only wish you'd read it sooner.

FINALLY!!! A truly intelligent, witty, original read. I had just about given up on women's fiction when a friend recommended Sara Caspian. And THE NEXT BIG THING certainly deserves to be just that! This is a fast, funny, satirical look at the current obsession with all things 'cool'. The author also interjects some truly inspired one liners, not to mention a wry, witty view of society. Sara Caspian really does redefine chicklit. I cannot recommend this book enough! Oh yes, and an added bonus are the fantastic sex scenes...

I saw this book in the shop, took it home...and was hooked. I've never enjoyed a book so much, as it made me laugh, cry and cheer at Tierney's wicked sense of humour and sheer bravery to face the world!
Miss Caspian is amazing in writing this novel, and I would recommend it to anyone with a good sense of humour.
I will be looking out for more works like this!

Average unintelligent chick-lit
The plot for this book was good, however Caspian could have made it better. The only characters that had real depth were Jack and Tierney. Read more
