Great book 15 Jan 2013
By dcjjp1 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Great book. Very interesting. A detailed history of the many lost department stores from their inception to their demise. Photos are terrific. These places aren't the Macy's that you're accustomed to these days. Bought as a gift for a lover of history of department stores.
Very good, but for younger eyes 27 Nov 2014
By Hopeless with computers - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is another book that in my younger days I would have read very slowly in order to make it last. But, it’s too long for my bad eyesight, arthritis and fatigue induced by blood pressure medications. I wish like anything that there were an audio book version so I could read it while doing other things. But, I had to content myself with the pictures. Fortunately, the pictures alone make the book worth it, and the author seems to have a good sense of humor based on the pictures following page 248.
In A Class Of Its Own 16 Jan 2014
By California Consumer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
There was a need for a book giving a detailed history of America's ever disappearing
department stores.

This fills that niche, and a recommendation for both the book and the seller is a 'slam dunk'.
