Book Description

20 July 2012
You've never seen tarot cards quite like these. Imagine the celebrated Rider Deck infused with the horrors of "Night of the Living Dead", and the result is "The Zombie Tarot" - a crazy, campy interpretation of a classic divination system. In this zombified parallel universe, wands become limbs, pentacles are biohazard symbols, and the Major Arcana is full of shambling corpses. Along with the 78-card deck, readers will receive instructions in a 96-page full-color book; its contents explain how to survive the zombie apocalypse and forecast your future using one of three different card layouts. The secrets of "The Zombie Tarot" await you!

An Oracle of the Undead with Deck and Instructions Both tarot cards and zombies have been around for generations, and both are welcomed eagerly by enthusiasts so here are the two combined! In a sturdy boxed set, all 78 cards of the tarot have been re-interpreted in line with the zombie apocalypse, with Wands becoming Shotguns, Pentagrams are BioHazard symbols, Swords are bladed weapons, etc. Fully functional, with original full-colour artwork for both Major and Minor Arcanda, and full and detailed instructions on how to perform readings The Zombie Tarot will appeal to any and all zombie fans, tarot believers, pop-culture lovers, teenagers, horror fans, or those looking for an original gift idea! Let the dead rise up and divine your future with this pack! --Zombie Times, May, 2012----With the proliferation of zombie output in recent years, it comes as a little surprise that it is only now that we are getting a spin on the subject in the shape of zombie tarot cards. Tarot is, of course, the ancient card game that was later adopted by mystics and occultists to map their mental and spiritual paths and to foresee their futures. What we have here is a fun twist on the standard sets of cards, you still have all the familiar named cards (especially if your introduction to tarot is watching Live and Let Die); death, the high priestess, the fool and the lovers but they are all interpreted with an apocalyptic zombie twist. The full set of 78 cards are illustrated with a whimsical undead touch, and with a very retro 50s feel. This is carried over in the 96 page booklet that is included. Not only does it explain in simple terms how to actually use the cards, it has explanations of what each card means, and how to interpret them, again with a zombie twist. There's a lovely touch in that the pages are sepia stained, as if by age, and there are some mock adverts in the back, just like the ones you'd find in old monster magazines or comics. They are all contained within a sturdy card box, made to look like a box of bullets. It's touches like this that raise this set above being just a novelty to something to enjoy, whether you believe in the mystical stuff or not. Bargain. --Starburst, June, 2012---Zombie Tarot Mystical Prediction Oracle is also known as Your Weapon of Choice and An Oracle of the Undead . This is an entertaining novelty tarot card pack published by Quirk Books. It consists of 78 cards which are illustrated by Paul Kepple (author of The Housewives Tarot ) and Ralph Geroni of Headcase Designs. In addition there is a 96 page instruction booklet written by Stacey Graham (author of The Girl s Ghost Hunting Guide ), offering three key words and a brief explanation of the energy. The deluxe, precision made, black velvet lined box has a close fitting lid and is also suitable for keeping silver tipped bullets or cremation ashes! I overcame immense reluctance to work with this deck and having placed my prejudices to one side, I studied the collages which are created from 1930 s, 40 s and 50 s American newspapers with additional artwork. I soon began to be entertained by the gruesome elements of this deck. The card backs are black with the image of a zombie in a sultan s hat, which is adorned with a jewelled brooch and feather. Wands are represented by limbs, pentacles by bio-hazard symbols, cups by skulls and swords by hatchets. Suggested are five spreads; for the Beginner , The Broken Heart , The Gravestone , The Eyeball and the Severed Head . Take the card of 5 of Wands as an example. It depicts a man lying on the floor, covered in blood and shouting because both his legs have been hacked off at the knees. Above him, two men, looking unwell and wearing ripped clothes are on their knees fighting over an amputated leg. Key words provided are Quarrels , Strife , Competition and the information is as follows: Even zombies will fall - -- --TABI, Sept, 2012

One hell of a gift for fans of the flesh-eaters….Lock the doors, close the curtains, turn down the lights and scare yourself shirtless. --Flipside, October, 2012 have found this to be a wonderful discussion piece, I have shown it to every single person who has came into my home in the last month or so I have owned it. It looks good as a display item as well happily resting next to my videogame figures. If you want something different then I would heartedly recommend this. --RottingZombie, Sept, 2012

A winner for pop-culture lovers, teenagers and horror fans...let the dead rise up and divine your future! --Cork News, December, 2012

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! 1 July 2012
Format:Cards
Loved the quirkiness of The Housewives Tarot which I added to my collection a few years ago so decided to take a chance on this one, also from Paul Kepple - so glad I did! Fantastic quality box, card stock and guide book and the illustrations are witty, atmospheric and very retro - 'The Fool' is so very 'Hi honey, I'm home!' (but he's not walking in the front door with a bunch of flowers....) - not 'too much' blood and gore (given the subject matter!), nothing seriously frightening or horrific, and plenty of detail/action in the images to stimulate the reader's imagination/intuition. A great addition to any Tarot lover's collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Humorous Horror 7 Jan 2013
Format:Cards
I brought this deck as wanted what was considered a 'dark' deck but I got a nice surprise whilst it does touch on those dark hidden areas when reading it comes shrouded in humour. The message is still there hard hitting but with a slight subtley. I love housewives and this deck of similar design does not disappoint. I love the Knight of Swords card it really crashes home the meaning the man in the tank crushing all in his wake a megalomaniac on the go. The calculating granny in the Queen of Swords.. doing her best to survive. I love the story each card tells as you delve in the different layers. If you want a dark deck which isnt too serious this is definately one to consider for sure. It comes in a lovely box and has a nice LWB not that you need these cards have quite self explanatory meanings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun 16 May 2013
Format:Cards|Amazon Verified Purchase
This pack comes in the best box I've ever had a deck in. It has a great little instruction book,I like the tounge in cheek humour, and the artwork is great fun. Good quality card, quite thick compared to most packs. You'd have to be a bit sensitive in what circumstances you used this pack but by and large I can't see why you couldn't use it like any other themed pack. I love it!
