Product Description

The "Country Series" aims to combine photographs with light, but authoritative commentary on the chosen themes, which cover art, architecture, travel, local history, the countryside, topography, gardens and rural life. In paperback for the first time, this informative book surveys the extraordinary landscapes and architecture of North Yorkshire: the high cliffs and secluded bays, dramatic ravines and tumbling waterfalls, ancient castles and glorious abbeys, enchanting villages and thriving towns. From Malham Cove's remarkable limestone pavement to the medieval city of York, this book captures a unique region and reveals the history and traditions of its people.

Yorkshire: A New Perspective 7 Jan 2001
By Nadele A Jacobs - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Yorkshire Moors & Dales was the first book I bought of the Country Series by Rob Talbot and Robin Whiteman, and it led me in turn to buy each new book as I have found it. Of all the "picture books" about the English countryside,I enjoy this series most. Talbot and Whiteman present a sharp clarity of detail and uniqueness that go beyond the usual photographic angle and standard text, helping the reader become a part of a scene, rather than just the viewer of a photograph.
