Book Description

The Yogi and the Snake is a Modern Mystic Classic. It shows one man’s search for the purpose of life, his growth of awareness, Self discovery and consequent participation with unfolding consciousness. The book is based on the personal records of the intense mystical experience, visions, encounters, poetic revelations, process of spiritual enlightenment and insight of Shailendra Gulhati, a Jammu based Shaivite Author.
The Yogi and the Snake takes the form of a parable. The Yogi (Supreme spiritual master; Shiva), in a dramatic mystical interaction with the snake (the contemporary spiritual seeker), unfolds the eternal secrets of spiritual life, the essence of spiritual pluralism that bridges the gap between ancient mystic wisdom and contemporary spiritual understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars " a wink to let us know , we are not alone...." Shailendra Gulhati sure reminds us of that with his book THE YOGI AND THE SNAKE 29 Jun. 2014
By Masoom Hamza - Published on Amazon.com

For me The Yogi and The snake.....begins as Contact to the Divine, and remains so.....Shailendra once informed me that " contact is what the airshipmen would shout when they had to manually propel the propellers of old gliders!!!".....and this book is how I got my flight to take off.....the journey continues. Rereading this in the E-version/ Kindle, has only rekindled all my enthusiasm and continued growth as I ponder over the deep and yet such light , almost humourous insights into our spiritual search to understand God , however we may know Him or not. To review this concisely is not my forte. But borrowing many of the lines from the book, I add it up with these excerpts forming my deep respect and awe at all there is to learn and explore .....and ease some of the confusion and thirst ....to grasp the "essence of humanity"....in the authors words who has shared his wisdom in a comprehensive , light manner....sometimes smilingly....to quote"..Shiva the rectifier..” ....and in fact though this book was printed 20 years ago....did the author know better...He says " God the ship awaits better anchorage, to explore newer seas, for who knows how deep the new harbours may be, who knows how fantastic our technology may become..."....its great to have this as an E-version.....amazing how easy it is to read too...for as turbulence continues in this modern world, the more the need arises to stay anchored to our links with the Higher World...and YNS reminds us of some valuable insights to keep us hopeful. May it help you as it still does me , with each reading "unveil my own Buddhahood..."

The yogi and the snake by Shailendra Gulhati is an easy read and very relevant in today's times as it a vital link between our rich spiritual foundation and contemporary times. This book is a dialogue between God and the modern man. Shailendra inspired by great spiritual luminaries unfolds an inner journey and delves deep within to reveal the essence of our existence and our bond with the Spiritual fountainhead, The Mighty Shiva. A path finding book for sure!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mordern day spiritual reading. A must for every home., 3 July 2014

This review is from: The Yogi and The Snake (Kindle Edition) The book is very beautifully written by Mr.Shailendra Gulhati as per the modern man's requirement. In this new age every human being has so many questions within, that rarely he gets an answers for his never ending questions.

Here in this book Mr.Shailendra has tried to answer many of them in a simple lay man's language. In this book the snake is referred to as a common man , where he is very thirsty for enlightenment or knowledge and seeks an answer from the " Horse's mouth " , which is the " Adi Yogi " / " Shiva " Himself. also there are some simple poetic phrases which is beautiful written by him.

Mr. Shail's Facebook page is also very interesting , where so many of us have become a "FAN " of him . He comes out every time with a beautiful message. Which is thought provoking. Everyone should possess this book for their day to day reference , which will make the mankind a good human being. Simply Awesome. " A must read."

This is a must read for all spiritual seekers trying to know the Mighty Lord Shiva. This book is a dialogue between Lord Shiva and the seeker, but this is more than a dialogue and actually is a divine interaction based on very profound realizations of the great devotee of Lord Shiva, Shailendra. Shailendra has presented the divine exchange with very deep revelations topped off with very pleasing poetry. If you want to know Lord Shiva, this book is it! Imagine Lord Shiva talking to you via Shailendra's book and realizations that can only be had after deep, deep meditation. Hats off to Shailendra for making this rare book available at Amazon.com so the whole world can taste the nectar from Lord Shiva.

The real genius of the book lies in presenting the most complex ideas in a form that everyone can understand. The work has been written in a style unique to its own, reflecting the long meditations of the author on the subject. It's a culmination of a journey and not a mere book.
