By Mark Meynell TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
For any fan of the 5 series, this book is a little gem - the perfect book to dip into frequently. It picks up some of the programme's most brilliant writing (eg Sir Humphrey's extended speeches or Bernard's excessive pedantry or tactics for stalling ministers).

It can never replace the DVDs (The Complete Yes Minister & Yes Prime Minister - Collector's Box Set [DVD]) of course, because the programmes form a unique synergy between writers, actors and directors - eg you can't read Sir Humphrey without hearing the wonderfully smooth and unruffled (mostly) intonation of Nigel Hawthorne. And it is a simple way in to the wonderful printed 'diaries' (The Complete Yes Prime Minister: The Diaries of the Right Hon.James Hacker).

But it is a treat nevertheless - not least because of the retrospective introduction written in 2009 by original writers, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn.

Great little book full of humour of the corridors of power - but then I'm a fan of the series.
