There's an overview of the year in fantasy at the end of this book, and the editor is rather disparaging. Probably not surprising by this anthology. It isn't any good, Stephen King's great gunslinger story notwithstanding, and Charles Sheffield. Bishop's barely fantastic at all but vaguely creepy story also edges in that direction.
