In post-Soviet Russian stereotypes, Estonians are extremely slow, and this book seems to have been compiled from Russian ethnic joke websites. The supposedly Estonian "self-ironical" jokes you see in this book are decidedly not Estonian. They are unknown to the overwhelming majority of Estonians. Those who know them either read them from the aforementioned websites or heard them from people who did.
Now, please don't misunderstand me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with making jokes on Estonians. If this book was titled "The image of Estonians in modern Russian humour", I would have no objections whatsoever. But the book's present title is misleading the prospective buyers into thinking that the factual information will be more or less true. It's unbelievable that Mr. Öpik, whom I until now held in highest regard, as well as another author with an Estonian name, have participated in producing this mind-blowing piece of garbage.
