An easy to read, in simple terms, about the cause of poor skin condition and what to eat to improve it. Not only did my skin look and feel brtter within two weeks, I lost weight fairly quickly, about 5 kg in a month - I had gained weight with unhealthy eating! Now I have returned to my "normal" weight, I feel better, have more energy and skin feels smoother. The diet is fairly straight forward and sensible. I don't know if related to the authors diet, but, I suffer less headaches and flushes - Is there a connection? Well recommended.

This book has all the info for those among us who don't want a facelift, but hope to help keep the skin looking as young as possible in a healthy way. It's written in very easy reading style and once you start you don't want to put it down until you've reached the end. My skin's certainly looking better these days having followed Perricone's tips.

Buy...my...expensive...creams...

The orginal version of the book The Perricone Prescription: A Physician's 28-Day Program for Total Body and Face Rejuvenation contains a lot more information, including useful, effective 'solutions' that don't require a second mortgage.

Whilst I found some of the information interesting, I did feel some of it felt like being back at school in a science lesson! To be honest, as I was reading why and how our skin ages I found myself wanting to skip to where it actually covers how I can improve my skin! It transpired that the information was really nothing that new, eat healthily, excercise, dont smoke, dont get sun damage etc etc.
Throughout the book we are offered many examples of Dr Perricones patients who were all considering cosmetic surgery for ageing skin -that is untill they tried the good doctors many magic lotions and potions, the results of which were so dramatic that they did not require surgery after all.
We are teased with descriptions of the ingrediants of Dr Perricones skin care range, such as vitamin c ester -"youth in a jar" and DMAE - "miracle nutrient that can give you an instant face lift"
Now I have not tested Dr Perricones skin care line so I could not say if these formulas do perform the wonders he claims in his book, and unfortunatly after looking on his website I will not be testing them due to the prices, which for some creams are in excess of the £100 mark.
All in all an ok book, despite none of the advise being revolutionary. Unfortunatly I do feel as though the main emphasis of the book is for Dr Perricone to market an extremly expensive skin care line.

This book blends common sense and also useful reminders of the physiology and anatomy of our largest organ- thats right, , our skin! We know that oily fish are good for us- make sure you opt for those that are line caught , sustainabley sourced. Please choose wild atlantic salmon and yellow fin only, not bluefin tuna! Ideally go for sardines, they arent in danger but have all of what we need.

It really does boost your skin, I was sceptical, but I could see the diffference in a few days, and a number of family and friends remarked too.

Why not give it a go!

I work as a facialist and skincare maker so I bought this book to find out more about anti-ageing in relation to diet and skincare. Well I was quite disappointed to find that there is pretty much zero usable information in this book - it feels like a very very long advert for Perricone's products.

Even as a professional there was very little info I could take away and use, the dietary stuff was so lacking and mostly the book is littered with anecdotal evidence and case studies.

At the end of the book there is, not surprisingly, a big advert for his patented skincare range, I went to the website out of interest and found that his products are £300-£400!!!

Snake oil anyone?

Essential reading for anyone considering procedures of any kind to beat the drum of youth again. The bad news for those of us sinful fools who smoke and drink relentlessly is what we have already known: it's time to kick them out and get on the cantaloupe track. I'm not sure how many people could make the changes required but if Prescriptives and prayer have failed you then this is the answer.

This book reveals the secrets behind Dr Pericones revolutionary wrinkle-defeating programme. He clearly explains how natural supplements, taken both orally and applied topically, have been proven to limit the damage caused by free radicals, helping skin to stay moist and minimize wrinkles. In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Perricone outlines his specific formula of elements - all available at health-food stores - and explains exactly how to combine them in a series of steps towards more youthful, healthy, wrinkle-resistant skin! Fab!
