Review

This is a gorgeous history of the least tasteful football kits…surely...a wonderful stocking filler --David Powter- Football Trader

Toilet Book of the Year 2011 --FourFourTwo

Product Description

In the mad, money-driven world of football, some rather interesting and sometimes shocking kits have been worn upon the field of play. This book is a full-colour celebration of some of the most outrageous strips foisted upon the poor players and the loyal fans, from clashing colours (think graphite/tangerine and custard cream) and disastrous designs (bruised banana anyone?) to surprising sponsors (too rude for the cover) and bad luck omens (you know the one, grey, swapped at half time?). With some classics and some surprises too, The Worst Football Kits of All Time is set to delight fans young and old, from strips donned by Victorian gentleman to modern-day prima donnas. The question is, how many of those featured do you have clogging up your wardrobe? Who knows, maybe they might even become fashionable again. So which really is the worst? You decide...

Been a fan of the author's Historical Kits site for some time, so his book was a must-have for me.
A humorous but affectionate journey thro the game's most eye-poppingly bad kits, suitable for fans &
non-fans alike, and ideal stocking-filler with Christmas not far away. How many of these travesties of sporting fashion can you remember?

Ace, ace, ace 11 Nov 2011
Format:Hardcover
I have bought five of these for Christmas presents this year (well, four - one's for me). It's an absolutely corking book where each turn of the page brings up something vile, grotesque and utterly wonderful. It's hilarious, from the Victorian gents in their turbans with shirts made from mattresses to the modern computer designed efforts. I have to admit, I've bought one kit from the book (Ajax 1989 or so) because, while it is undeniably hideous, it is quite something. An emotive subject guaranteed to deliver engaging and jovial debate, this book is a must-have for football fans everywhere. Now, which one is the worst ...?

Bright, colourful, funny and full of retina-shatteringly bad strips. You really can't go wrong with this one as a treat for yourself or a present for a footy-loving friend.
