A faintly remembered recording from the past resurfaces into the modern arena where it is still able to produce echoes of the original fear that shook an unsuspecting nation. The earnest tones of the great Orson Welles ring with the classic reassurance of newsreader and continue to haunt the mind long after the conclusion of this iconic drama. A wonderful piece that is so gladly revisited by those who heard it in the past and a compulsory listen for anyone who has not yet experienced such a vividly drawn sound theatre. Once heard it will be impossible to forget the terror that emerges from 'Grover's Mill'. Although remastered it retains some of its crackle but it remains a priceless relic from radio history.

The is a remastered or cleaned up copy of the original radio broadcast from 1938, which caused panic across america, and one of the reasons orson wells became well known. You can also buy the original copy unmastered, but this is full of that old fashioned radio hiss & noise, where as the remastered is much clearer including the voices. This is HISTORY!, so go and check it out!...

Well worth listening to, and at a good price compared with other versions available. Such a clever adaptation and, considering the date of the broadcast, still very effective!
