Product Description

The World Of Lee Evans DVD features the award-winning comedian Lee Evans in his first ever TV series. The star of "Funny Bones" and "Mousehunt" delivers his unique brand of physical comedy in six short dramas spread over four half-hour programmes. Whether he’s meeting his girlfriend’s parents, trying to woo the girl next door, working his first shift at an all-night garage or picking up a dodgy hitchhiker, Lee inhabits a surreal and hilarious world of sight-gags, nervous tics and escalating hysteria.

The manic comedy stylings of award-winning comedian Lee Evans are on full display in the DVD release of The World Of Lee Evans, his first ever TV series. Evans consistently strikes comedy gold as he extracts surrealism from the most mundane of situations. Living up to comparisons to Norman Wisdom and the Marx Brothers, Evans delivers his rapid-fire wit, nervous energy and physical humour at an alarming pace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Comedy Genius! 8 April 2007
I absolutly love Lee Evans and this DVD had me in stitches! I did find this comedy a bit like Mr.Bean in places but im not complaning I loved it!! Fav bit for me had to be the one at the petrol station where Lee evans and John Tompson are miming along to a tape << never fails to make me laugh! Also the bit where he's a car salesman and his actions match with the music! This also makes it funny when actions match the music on top. I also like the Mr.Confidence one where he has an aproach mat for different situations, pure genius! I also am a fan of early 90's comedies. It just takes him to make a funny face to have me laughing so a definate thumbs up for any lee evans fan or comedy lover!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Very Funny. 30 Dec 2006
A lot of people criticise Lee's TV show 'The world of Lee Evans' as being 'unfunny and not clever' but to be honest, here we see a whole new side to the comic genius, and one for the best. Both his stand-up shows and this deserve 5-stars because they are so witty and imaginitive. Whether it be Lee meeting his in-laws for the first time or spensing the night in a 24-hour Garage Service Station, you are likely to find this excellent dvd very, very funny.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average if that 18 Dec 2006
Totaly different from his normal stand up comedy. Not that good really, perhaps fot the younger generation (early teens). However saying this there is a few scenes where i did "crease", but very few compared to his stand up. What i did like is that in his stand up he describs funny actions and real life scenes and he actually puts them into a real life situation in this dvd. For example; the petrol station clerk at night, whos behind the glass and cant hear the customer.

No bad language, probably better for family viewing!

This is a good package for Lee Evans Fans because it takes his physical acting career to another level. Watching Lee dealing with difficult situations is funnier than watching a sheep dressed as a clown playing the violin whilst flying blindfolded!!! Seriously funny!!! I am fast becoming a fan of Mr Evans because of his humorous faces and stretchy bendy physical comedy, and whilst his stand up shows are admittedly the highlight of his career, its nice to see him expressing into another mad world, which is equally as funny and original. This is a really funny dvd and should be with every Evans fan!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Lee Evans at his best 3 Dec 2006
By Ed
We rented this DVD with an expectation of buying it for Christmas. In the end we did not watch all of the DVD. It is half a dozen 'Mr Bean' style sketches which are simply not funny and not clever.

Lee is much, much better in his stand-up role, or in his straight acting parts.

Choose a different one or I think you'll be disappointed.
