Several books later at long last I have found a book that concentrates on what whippets do best: catch rabbits. This book offers invaluable guidance on how to achieve this in a way that is accessible, entertaining and a joy to read. The book is filled with lovely photos that only add to the enjoyment. The Working Whippet provides everything that anyone interested in the working whipped needs, and more. Buy this book. It really is one of the best.

This book should be on the 'quirky present' list for anyone who enjoys learning things new. It is written with wry humour and is full of interesting facts about dogs and countryside matters, including rabbits. Each page I had a smile on my face at least once and the author clearly draws from huge experience with whippets and coursing. The photos add interest and are generally great (including a couple of fantastic shots of leaping dogs!) but could be a bit more technically accomplished to show more texture in the picture. I'd like to see a copy of The Working Whippet on every discerning bookshelf!

really good read very impressed how much detail there is in the book if you are at all interested in working dogs then i would recommend this i have been out the game for a while and bought my whippet to work with my jack's and ferret's she is now 7 month old and doing really well thanks to the information in this book as you tend to forget a lot of what you once new.
