I love Wally! 27 Mar 2008
Format:Paperback
This was written by my son, Timothy, aged 8.

The book has two great characters: Wally the Wappapotamas, who is very forgetful and funny, and the Properpotamas, who is mysterious. And maybe I should mention the pigeon too.

My favourite part of story is when Wally lands on a wind turbine and says "oh help!" because it is really funny. I also loved it when the girl in the story was given a toy wappapotamus by Father Christmas. I wish I could buy one!

I always get Mum to play the song in the car and we all sing along to it. It is so sweet the way Wally says "Pottymygoodness. My gosh!"

I would definitely recommend this to a friend. It is such a good book. Whenever one chapter ended, I begged my mum to read me another. It will really make you smile when you read it.

I wish this book was put on TV! It is exciting and funny, but it is also pretty serious about really important things.

If you are looking for a book either to read out loud to a younger child or for an older child to read alone, I would highly recommend this one. It also comes with a CD of Wally Woppapotamus singing about how to make the world a better place! It's a catchy tune which I'm sure children of all ages will love. Wally is a Woppapotamus from Titan, a kind and friendly creature who is sent on a mission to save his planet from potential invaders from Planet Earth. This book teaches children through the use of the loveable Wally, that it's better to be friendly to one another and also environmentally friendly and in a time when climate change is very much an issue, this is an important message to get across to the younger generation. It's a clever and enlightening adventure.

A delightfully funny and gently tale with an environmental message that's all wrapped up in a cute and cuddly little purple Woppapotamus package - a great gift for under 10's.
