This book, written over 100 years ago, provides a fascinating insight into the level of rational thought existing in those days. The author(s) is/are clear in pointing out that they have little patience with the 'traditional' misogynist emphasis found in the interpretation of biblical events and they carry out an excellent demolition of these ideas.
They review the bible as any other book, pointing out its inconsistencies and immorality, while still still appearing to be devout.
Their views really do stand the test of time - relevant today as I'm sure they were then and I'm surprised the book hasn't had more publicity and I would recommend it as a thoroughly stimulating read.
