The tag "Movie Storybook" tells you immediately that this Big Golden Book is NOT L. Frank Baum's original classic fantasy. This is an adaptation of the screenplay for the 1939 MGM movie by Noel Langely, Florence Ryerson, and Edgar Allen Woolf. This edition begins with a brief history of L. Frank Baum's original book and the MGM movie. Jan Wahl's text is a bit too brief; obviously intended for young readers with short attention spans. But this book is lavishly illustrated with Black and White and Color photos from the movie. And my copy, originally published in 1989 for the movie's 5OTH Anniversary, is a beautiful Hardcover edition in excellent condition. This Storybook should delight any fan of "The Wizard Of Oz" movie.

If you can get a hold of a nice used copy of this book, it is such a great find. True to the movie with beautiful photographs. My daughter is such a huge Oz fan, she really enjoyed having this book added to her collection.
