About the Author
Robert Westall is one of the most important children's writers of the last 25 years. Highly regarded by critics and winner of numerous awards, his realistic stories, such as THE MACHINE GUNNERS, have created a very strong following amongst children. Sadly, he passed away in 1993. Well known for her soft naturalistic style, Sophy Williams has been illustrating children's books for over 12 years. She was highly commended for both the Mother Goose and Reader's Digest Young Illustrators competition and is willing to do author events in her local area.

Beautiful, spiritually uplifting nativity story from the perspective of a regal Egyptian cat. Wonderful for all ages, 6 & up.
The Christmas Story from the Cat's Point of View

The Witness is a wonderful story for older children, ages 6 - 13. The story is told from the point of view of a cat, who also gives birth on that long ago Christmas night. By a circuitous route the cat actual takes the story from Christmas, through the visit from the Magi and the flight into Egypt.(You will have to read the book to find out how we end up in Egypt.) Parents should know that the cat kills a rat for the baby Jesus in the context of the story. The pictures are lovely and show a Holy Family who really look like they were born in the Middle East.
