Product Description

Sequel to the extraordinary The Name of the Wind, The Wise Man's Fear is the second instalment of this superb fantasy trilogy from Patrick Rothfuss.

This is the most exciting fantasy series since George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and a must for all fans of HBO's Game of Thrones. Picking up the tale of Kvothe Kingkiller once again, we follow him into exile, into political intrigue, courtship, adventure, love and magic...and further along the path that has turned Kvothe, the mightiest magician of his age, a legend in his own time, into Kote, the unassuming pub landlord.

Packed with as much magic, adventure and home-grown drama as The Name of the Wind, this is a sequel in every way the equal to its predecessor and a must for all fantasy fans.

Engaging and gripping, The Wise Man's Fear is the biggest and the best new fantasy novel out there.

In the sequel to his excellent `name of the wind` Patrick Rothfuss begins to widen out his world & Kvothe moves from boy to man.
Much of this see`s him set out on hid own, to a new town to work for a powerful mayor, leading a band of mercenaries & learning all sorts of things in the land of the fey amongst other things.
Kvothe is moving away from hotheaded boy to thoughtful man. He begins to hold his own in various roles & amongst some pretty impressive foes.
As before Rothfuss grows a huge world of many characters & a dizzying array of situations. Everything is full of fascinating detail & although many a detour is taken the story moves along at a much quicker pace & feels less constrained than the first novel.
The sooner the next book is released the better, we are all geting impatient!
As before Rupert Degas reads superbly well. Very character has their own voice and he holds the listeners attention throughout. He is both clear & well paced and lends weight to an already superb novel.
Kvothe continues his lifes education to the fascination of us all.
This is a great second novel in what had so far been really enjoyable & gripping trilogy. Fantasy at its best & made even better in audiobook format by Degas` fine reading. Highly recommended.
