Very pleased with this purchase, a must have in the library of anybody with an interest in Maderia. The book is very well structured, informative and reads very easily, you could almost feel you are sipping a glass of Madeira whist chatting to the author. A must buy for any fan of Madeira and equally an ideal gift for one!

This great book on Madeira wine as researched and written by Trevor Elliott, is indeed an indispensable guide
for any true lover of this magnificent fortified nectar. The book starts the reader from a short history of
the island and wines, to growers, type of grapes, vinification, fortification and aging, blending and bottling,
to storing and serving etc. Not only is this book loaded with beautiful colour photographs showing every aspect
of the intricate process involved in making Madeira wine, but also with photos showing the island and it's
relation to the vineyards. Mr. Elliott a UK. native, is a long time visitor of the island thru the years, and
as a result has cemented a great relationship with owners and growers alike. Anyone who buys and reads this book,
will definitely feel as though, they themselves have visited Madeira thru the years, and have walked away with
a vast treasure of knowledge!

A great book for those studying for wines exams - or anyone who wants to know the ins and outs of Madeira. Easy to understand, yet comprehensive, with lots of photographs to bring it to life.
