Product Description

Animated version of Kenneth Grahame's much-loved children's tale. Badger, Ratty and Mole are the woodland and river-dwelling creatures who enjoy a simple, settled existence in the English countryside. However, their brash and egotistical friend, Toad, is renowned for his passing fads and expensive but short-lived enthusiasms. When Toad develops a passion for motor cars, his resultant debts force him to sell his ancestral home, Toad Hall, to the cunning and conniving weasels!

From the Back Cover

In this unique film, the award-winning animators of Cosgrove Halls have brought Kenneth Grahame's characters, Badger, Mole, Ratty and the flamboyant Toad of Toad Hall, magically to life in a beautiful Edwardian country scene. Join these four lively characters in a wonderful production that captures all the fun and enchantment of a fairy tale adventure. With voices by David Jason, Michael Holden, Ian Carmichael, Una Stubbs, Beryl Reid and Richard Pearson.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Best 15 Feb 2003
Stop motion animation doesn't get better than this exquisitely rendered Edwardian-era jewel. Flawlessly acted by a wonderful cast, this is the definitive Rat, Mole, Badger and, of course, the irrepressible Toad. Wind in the Willows is one of the cosiest and most comforting books ever written, and this version is wonderfully true to the original. It has enchanted every child in my family and delighted the adults as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you liked the book, you'll love this. 3 April 2001
Wind in the Willows is one of the most enchanting childrens books ever written, and though it has been around for years now, it has lost none of its original charm and appeal. This film version is indeed the book come to life, with captivating animation that children and adults alike will appreciate and love. The character's personalities will make you believe they are real, and transport you to a land of make believe, so you can escape along with your children to this magical place of talking toads who ride around in automobiles... A must for every child's collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly Entertaining 8 Aug 2003
Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved it as a child, and it hadn't aged when I bought it on DVD as a adult. The picture quality is pretty good and some effort appears to have gone into the additional features on the disk, which is unusual for DVD's so early on the life of the format. As for the feature itself, the humour is very very good, the narrative so well written, a wonderful collection of characters, and excellent animation. What more could we ask for? True all round entertainment that everyone should be given the chance to see at least once.
