About the Author

Nicholas Hammond is director of The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire, and for much of his career has been involved with wildlife and its conservation, first with the RSPB and then with The Wildlife Trusts. He has written over a dozen books. Chris Packham is a popular television personality, as well as an accomplished naturalist, award-winning photographer and writer, whose career has revolved around promoting public awareness of wildlife and conservation. He is best known for BBC television's popular The Really Wild Show. The Wildlife Trusts (and Wildlife Watch - the UK's leading club for young environmentalists) has been speaking out for wildlife since 1912 and plays a key part in restoring the balance between new developments and the natural world. With the specialist skills of volunteers and staff they manage more than 2,300 wildlife reserves.
