Product Description

The bluest of blood; the blackest of rogues the de Montiforte Brothers will take your breath away - Meet Lord Gareth - "They call me The Wild One, and for good reason. The devil only knows whether or not I am husband material. But I do know one thing. I will do anything I must to win Juliet's love... and to be the husband and father - the man - I know it is within me to be" Lord Gareth de Montforte. Blackheath Castle, Berkshire, England 1776. Lord Gareth de Monforte is known as an irresponsible rake with a heart of gold. When he thwarts a stagecoach robbery, he is stunned to discover that the beautiful young woman he has heroically rescued, Juliet Paige, is his deceased brother's fiancée, accompanied by her infant daughter. Despite his family's refusal to acknowledge Juliet, Gareth is determined to do right by the courageous woman who crossed an ocean to give her baby the name she rightfully deserves. As a practical American woman, Juliet is wary of marrying this black sheep aristocrat, yet she is hopelessly charmed by the dashing devil. Never has she met anyone who embraces life so thoroughly, who makes her laugh, who loves her so well. And, even when it seems the odds are against them. Juliet has absolute faith that Gareth will go beyond the call of duty to give her and her daughter a home - and a love that will last a lifetime.

Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!!!!! 8 May 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book was a refreshing and welcome change from the romance novels that I've read lately. I couldn't put it down. The hero, Lord Gareth de Montforte, is everything that a hero should be and more: he's strong, he's sexy, he's charming, he's courageous, he loves kids, and he goes to heroic lengths to make a future for his wife and infant daughter, risking his life in the process and winning my heart as well! If you like fast-paced, sexy stories, unique characters, an unusual plot, and books set in England, you'll LOVE this book. I did!!!!

I absolutely LOVED this book! (4 3/4 stars) 28 May 2003
By M. I. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I LOVED THIS STORY. I thought that Gareth was unbearably adorable..so he was a little immature at times, but he was only 23 and I for one, was thoroughly charmed by him. I adored watching him with Juliet and especially his interactions with little Charlotte. I thought that Juliet was his perfect match , though Ill admit that at first it worried me that she had been involved with his brother, but my fears were soon laid to rest as I watched their love grow. My only quibble with this book was that sometimes I felt like other aspects of the plot overshadowed the romance, but for the most part..I LOVED THIS.. A definite keeper..I cannot wait to move onto the next in the series!

Nearly 5 stars for this first book in the DeMontforte brothers series 7 Jan 2006
By Sandra J Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I loved Gareth! He & his lady love were great! On the 1-10 scale, I'd put this at 9.8 or so. I loved him nearly as much as Charles, in the 2nd book. Read the whole series, it sticks with you & for the most part, you won't be disappointed! My favorite thing about him is his love for Charlotte, his stepdaughter. At least, he had love for her, where her natural father, Charles, really did not.
