70 years old and still showing them how it's done! I'm a audiophile/home cinema enthusiast who is normally very critical of live shows on bluray/dvd but this has been put together with the professionalism it deserves. Sound and picture quality are awesome with a nostalgic stage show and this absolute masterpiece of an album. Doesn't get any better! IVE GOT GOOSEBUMPS :-D

This is a marvellous CD on which almost every song is a highlight. I usually list highlights when I do a review, but on this disc rather than listing virtually every song, I'll list the highest of the highlights: The Punk And The Godfather, 5:15, Who Are You, and Won't Get Fooled Again.

It's a particularly nice touch that John Entwistle's bass guitar solo in 5:15 and Keith Moon's vocal from Bell Boy were included in the show (they were shown on video screens). It seems strange to me that they are not credited on the CD, but this is a trivial point.

Despite the five stars, there is a downside: age is bound to take its toll on a singer's voice. Roger, who was 69 when this show was performed, does not sound as good as he did in his heyday, but is still very good. Pete is fine in the quiet sections, but when he sings something louder his voice is more of a growl that I find unpleasant on the ears. Pete doesn't do enough singing to justify the deduction of a star.

Apart from Quadrophenia, this disc features some of the group's best-known songs listed as "Bonus Performance". These include Who Are You, You Better You Bet, Pinball Wizard, Baba O'Riley (theme tune from CSI NY, just in case you don't know the song), Won't Get Fooled Again, and Tea and Theatre. In a way, it's a shame that it ends with Tea and Theatre which is, for me, the weakest track. I understand why they end their shows with this song - all the musicians who are not members of The Who leave the stage and the show ends with Pete and Rog. It's just that I have always considered Won't Get Fooled Again to be a showstopper and, as my son says, it's called a showstopper for a reason. I believe it is simply impossible to top this song, so they shouldn't try!

If you're a fan of The Who this should be in your collection. If you quite like The Who and want a live album, this is certainly a good one to choose.

Lifelong Who fans like me will buy this anyway and won't need a review from me to encourage them, but for what it's worth I think this is exceptionally good. It's very well produced, but most importantly the performance of the band is simply brilliant.

I was a little sceptical about whether this would really be any good. A fine show, certainly, and Pete and Roger can always be relied upon but I did wonder about the overall effect. In fact, in places I prefer this to the original album - something I never thought I'd say after 40 years of loving the original. Roger's voice has matured and mellowed somewhat and his diction isn't as crisp as it was but, by God, that heart-racing power is still all there when he needs it. The high notes in Is It In My Head, for example, are still spine-tingling and I'm One is an absolute masterpiece here, I think, with thrilling, thoughtful vocals, some fine acoustic guitar from Pete and superb work from the rest of the band. Age has brought a greater depth and sense of meaning to their performances without losing one jot of their sheer visceral power and excitement. I'm thrilled and a little surprised at how good this is.

I also think special mention should go to Scott Devours on drums. I didn't think it possible for anyone to replace Keith Moon, and in a sense it isn't - he was a unique one-off. Devours has the sense not to try to imitate the inimitable but he gets the sense and feel of the man somehow, and although the drumming isn't Moon and never could be, it feels exactly right and I think it's a brilliant performance which really adds to the set.

The sheer impact of the final three tracks of Quadrophenia - 5.15, The Rock and Love Reign O'er Me - is stunning.

What can I say that hasn't been said before. I saw them in Manchester and they just fantastic. So I bought this on the strength of the Manchester gig. I am so glad I did cause now I get to relive one of the best nights ever !!!. I first saw them in 1975 and I witnessed a band that was bad tempered ( the music was good ). Next time in Sheffield in 2007 after Endless Wire and they hadn't lost any of their energy. I thoroughly recommend this ( I do have the Quadrophenia Boxset and several live sessions ) this is without doubt one of those recordings that will become legendary.

This, as a full package is outstanding. I was excited the moment I took the brown cardboard cover off, from the clear printed plastic outer, into the circular metal tin, to the digipak holding the variety of discs. This was even before watching or listening to any of the discs. This has been put together with the thought and precision, that any Quadrophenia project deserves.

The original album has long been a favourite of mine and the Super Deluxe kit was really nice, only missing the full 5.1 treatment This has now been included within this package. The live show shows Pete and Roger in majestic form and we have to be so glad that they did not all die before they got old. Keith and John were the heartbeat of the early 'Who' and are sorely missed but the people that Pete has pulled in around him and Roger help to produce a sound that builds on the maturity that can be seen in the faces of those performing, and the excitement in the faces of those watching.

Whichever package that you go for with this product, you will have yourself a gem.
