Book Description

After over a century, the identity of Jack the Ripper may finally be known...

London: the autumn of 1888. A time that has become known as the autumn of terror. The Whitechapel area of London is one of the most poverty stricken and crime ridden parts of the capital. It has become a breeding ground for crime and prostitution. The world's first serial killer kills and mutilates several women in the space of a few months, leaving the city's residents helpless and horrified. He is never caught or identified, although from taunting letters sent to the newspapers, he becomes known as Jack the Ripper.

London: present day. Tour guide Ian Groves narrowly escapes with his life when someone tries to push him under a train and is dragged into a dangerous and secretive conspiracy reaching back over a century. Supposedly, someone actually knew who the Ripper was and can prove it. Groves learns there is a box of papers hidden somewhere containing the evidence that that will put an end to the years of speculation, and prove once and for all who Jack the Ripper really was. Along with a beautiful American teacher, he decides to try to track down the box and get to the truth. However, someone else seems to want to locate the box even more badly and will stop at nothing to get it..

The Whitechapel Conspiracy is an exciting mystery, with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing until the very end. It spans 120 years and features locales ranging from the congested streets of 19th century Whitechapel, to the canals of Venice and the French countryside. It will take you on a quest for the truth about the world's most notorious serial killer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting 21 Dec. 2013
By Shorgik
Format:Paperback
Im very interested in Jack the ripper and there were several things I really liked about this book. A lot of info dispersed throughout the book about why he wasn't caught, the main suspects, the police investigation of the time, which makes the book more tan just a good thriller. main characters are likeable and believable and the hint of a romance throughout the book is also intriguing. Loved the first part of the book describing the Ripper walk, and also like the way the clues are solved. All in all, very well written, fast paced and satisfying. And a twist that I have to admit took me by surprise and you probably wont see coming.

The mystery of Jack the Ripper is an enduring one and I very much enjoyed this new tale of action and suspense. The atmosphere and the locations really lent themselves to the story along with all the history and intrigue around the Ripper's identity and possible suspects. There's a great main character in Ian, who was believable in having his world turned upside down. All the characters are well written, along with the snappy dialogue and more twists and turns than the reader could ever anticipate. Mr Loughlin has crafted a fine mystery here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well done job 24 Dec. 2013
Format:Paperback
An exciting hunt around Europe for clues leading to the identity of the Ripper! could have been a bit silly and far fetched, but the book is so well written that it all seems to make sense. Some very good scenes - a chase through French vineyard, the Ripper walk at the beginning and the scene set in Lisbon. Very enjoyable and would make a good movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the the best Ripper books I've read. 11 Oct. 2014

Format:Kindle Edition
This is one of the best Ripper books I've read in ages, with the exception of The Seduction Of Mary Kelly. It seems quite believable, although I know it most probably isn't, but I'm 100% sure we'll never know the real truth.

5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable read! 22 Feb. 2015

Overall, an enjoyable read and an original take on the Ripper myth, with a plot akin to the Da Vinci Code. Whilst the solution is perhaps a little far fetched, the idea is imaginative and well thought out. I found myself becoming more and more engrossed by the story, so the book became a real page turner! I awarded five stars for sheer entertainment value, and I think anyone with an interest in the Ripper case will enjoy this yarn.
