THE MOST VICIOUS MURDER IN A CITY'S HISTORY . . .

A killer stalks the city of San Diego, brutally slaying women on the fringes of society. The body of a young woman torn apart in her bedroom makes even the hardened detectives of the San Diego PD's Homicide Unit tremble with disgust and rage.

A DETECTIVE WITH A TROUBLED PAST . . .

For SDPD homicide detective Jon Stanton, the young woman is more than just another case. His former partner, Eli Sherman, was the original detective assigned to the case; before he was discovered to be one of San Diego's most ruthless serial killers.

A FINAL CHANCE AT REDEMPTION . . .

Stanton was unable to see Eli Sherman for what he was and blames himself for the murders he committed while on the force. Near death, Stanton swears that he will never wear the badge again. But with a depraved killer eluding the best San Diego PD has to offer, he must once again fight to uncover a killer that leaves no evidence behind, and that has turned his attention to new prey . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant detective novel 26 Dec 2011

A detective is called back to join the Cold case squad, & finds himself back with the worst case of his life . His former partner is serving life , after nearly killing him, & he now has to find ,despite interference from many others,( his wife from whom he is separated and his boss included ), a serial killer. Taut, fast paced, and not over written this is a true thriller. No long descriptions of food, love scenes, scenery or clothing that are often used as padding., just the man, the plan, the action . I will definitely read more of this authors books. Read it , you are in for a treat.

I did enjoy this book and thought it well written.....but the main character and I presume the author is of the Mormon faith, now I have no problem with this except the storyline kept veering toward advertising for the LDS church.

It seemed very blatant and was almost like an ad break in a film. The story just seemed to stop for a few paragraphs while the main character preached his beliefs.

It didn't add anything to the storyline and detracted from the flow. This would easily be a 4 star review if the author kept his religious views and his crime fiction separate.

If you can ignore this I still recommend The white angel murder as a good read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre
Basically good story idea but badly written. Too many typos, missing words, poor grammar and punctuation. Difficult to follow in places. Would not recommend.
