This box set containing the complete first three series of The West Wing is available exclusively from Aaron Sorkin's American political drama The West Wing, set in the White House, has won innumerable awards--and rightly so. Its depiction of a well-meaning Democrat administration has warmed the hearts of countless Americans. However, The West Wing is more than mere feel-good viewing for sentimental patriots. It is among the best-written, sharpest, funniest and moving US TV series of all time. Martin Sheen leads a strong ensemble cast: his Jed Bartlet is such an impressively plausible fictional President that polls once expressed a preference for Bartlet over the genuine incumbent.

Handled incorrectly, The West Wing could have been turgid, didactic propaganda for The American Way. However, the writers are careful to show that, decent as this administration is, its achievements, though hard-won, are minimal. Moreover, the brisk, staccato-like, almost musical exchanges of dialogue, between Josh and his PA Donna, for instance, as they pace purposefully up and down the corridors are the show's abiding joy. --David Stubbs

The first three seasons of the best political drama..ever!
For anyonewho hasn't seen the West Wing, why not? The chaos and confusion of life inthe White House just gets better and better.
A perfect present forrecent convents to Aaron Sorkin's creation. If you already own the seasonsseparately it isn't worth splashing out.

Please make it happen. 1 Mar. 2011
By Babelfishsoup - Published on
This series is fantastic. Our family watch it every year atleast once. The DVD collection is starting to fail, and in some cases wasn't very good quality.

A Blu Ray release would be an instant purchase. Probably even two copies for safety.

Why is this STILL not out on blu ray yet??? 19 Sept. 2011
By Vanessa Melchiori - Published on
We have been waiting YEARS for this amazing series to come on blu ray. At this point I don't even care if it's not a fancy decorative box set. In fact, I'm learning that the quality usually suffers with this kind of packaging. Just put the seasons on blu ray already please!

Sorkin at his best 25 May 2010
By Robert - Published on
I came late to the West Wing family. It is one of the most well written and acted series ever on television. Too many of my conservative peers refuse to watch because of its 'liberal' bent. Yeah, but not really. It skewers both parties and their idiotic inability to work for the people.
Sorkin took great pains to educate us throughout the run of the show (even though he left after season 4), about partisanship, politics from the inside, the constitution and it's ammendments, and how the government is structured from each of the three branches.
Put your politics aside and you will truly enjoy The Bartletts and their staffs.

Blu-ray? 8 Sept. 2010
By D.J.B - Published on
If this ever shows up on Blu-ray and is not ridiculously priced, it will be an instant buy for me! I'm waiting for this and a few other tittles to show up on Blu-ray. Not only for the quality, but for the fact I don't like buying 900 DVD box sets either.

BD Version Should be Soon 3 Sept. 2012
By Q.Q. McMudd - Published on
Now that Amazon is selling this series at the bargain price of $89.00, the BD version
should be soon on its way. I have noticed that quite often when a series is reduced
by 50%, we will see the BD version coming out very shortly. Still, I am purchasing
this show because the price is just too good to pass up. Also, I have been eagerly
awaiting a chance to purchase The West Wing since it was cancelled. Season one may
even be shown in a widescreen format on the BD version. Thanks Amazon
for this generous deal.
