A modern morality tale centred around Imogen de la Bere's best villain yet, Crawford Hollander. His evil deeds stretch from suburban Hertfordshire to rural New Zealand, taking in Continental wine growers and a temperamental German on the way.
The author creates a rounded villain, and lets the reader enter his mind to understand a little of his motivation. At times, we begin to feel a touch of sympathy for him.
The book has a pace which drives you to read on and its culmination is well, wonderful, with just a hint of uncertainty.
Ironic and great fun.
