This quiz book provides the amatuer quizmaster with some of the props necessary to run their own quiz show. However, in order to reflect the actual programme you will need several other resources, such as a strong will, the ability to provide direct feedback to contestants and the courage to face them after the event. This book enables the reader to run through the similar format as the programme, by firing questions at friends and loved ones thankfully not in the spotlight of the TV cameras. The book is set out thoughtfully, offering individual sets of questions on each page, with the answers grouped together at the bottom of the page, which enables you to provide the correct answer instantly, and not to have to fiddle about at the end of the book to find the right page for the right answers, as in most quiz books. The questions are varied in their difficulty so all age ranges could participate. Also there are instructions regarding the rules of the game which are easy to read and absorb, before your nerves empty your memory as the lights dim.................Goodbye.

This is fairly run of the mill as TV tie-in quiz books go.

Lets start with the positive points. There's 3,000 questions in the book which isn't bad value. I suspect that if you buy this because you want to play at home you'll be fairly pleased. Answers are on the same page as the questions, and there's a handy little totalliser to fill in on the side of the page, so I can see this providing minutes of fun for all the family.

If, like me, you bought the book as a source of questions for setting pub quizzes, then there's nothing here to make it stand out from a hundred other quiz books. Searching for something else positive to say, there's a better spread of questions than there tends to be on the show, in terms of both subjects and difficulty, and if you find one of these being sold cheaply secondhand, then I suppose it might be worth your while buying it. Strictly middle of the road stuff.

Goodbye! 22 May 2001
This book is excellent and has many many questions from the show...

The only thing I had against it was that I had expected the questions to be grouped according to difficulty as they are on the TV Show (the questions get harder and more specialist knowledge is required as the game goes on) but that doesn't really spoil the fun of playing the game and "Robinsoning" your friends and family!!! A Great book.
