Product Description

Synopsis

This book is for everyone not just for trannies. More and more people find the subject fascinating. Students of sociology and psychology find the contents useful to their studies and the media are continually referring to the Tranny Guide whilst researching articles and programmes. Wives, partners, friends and family of cross-dressers (who may be struggling to understand partner's feelings and desires), will find this book invaluable. Others will find new ways to enjoy 'the scene'.

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful By Roy Brookes VINE VOICE on 3 Mar. 2005
I have bought the Tranny Guide before, but I found this new edition disappointing. It is heavily biased towards the UK crossdresser scene (and that mainly in London) and has little about transsexuality in it. Also a lot of the information is out of date, groups that have ceased to exist, bars that have closed down, and new bars and places that are not mentioned, for example. My own (transsexual) partner and I used the guide on a recent visit to the UK and found it of very little help when trying to find out where to go in Birmingham, a major city. We did find a very good place to go with no help from the Guide. It was a bar run by a transvestite with a TV barmaid and drag shows, called Glamorous, in Hurst Street, by the way. The boss also runs Missing, across the street and down a bit, which has dropped out of the current Tranny Guide although it was there in previous years. See what I mean about out of date information?
