Book Description

From the Bestselling Author of Seth Speaks and The Nature of Personal Reality

In September 1984, the voice that had spoken for one of the most profound and prolific metaphysical teachers of the 20th century fell silent. Seth, the entity who described himself as an “energy personality essence no longer focused in physical matter,” had spoken exclusively through Jane Roberts since 1963. During the long illness that led to her death, Jane continued to channel Seth from her hospital bed, but this final work was left unfinished. Now, in The Way Toward Health, Jane’s husband, Robert Butts, shares with us the intimate story of Jane’s final days, and the exquisite teachings that Seth gave during that time.

In an examination of the miracle of life in a human body, Seth speaks about:

• Why medicine and therapy often perpetuate illness
• How the practice of naming diseases can work against us
• The influence of religion in creating disease
• How children’s health is influenced by parents’ beliefs
• Humor as an effective factor in healing

“Do not think of the mind as a purely mental entity, and of the body as a purely physical one. Instead, think of both mind and body as continuing, interweaving processes that are mental and physical at once. Your thoughts actually are quite as physical as your body is, and your body is quite as nonphysical as it seems to you your thoughts are. You are actually a vital force, existing as a part of your environment, and yet apart from your environment at the same time.” — Jane Roberts, speaking for Seth in The Way Toward Health

Praise for The Seth Books by Jane Roberts:

“The Seth books present an alternate map of reality with a new diagram of the psyche . . . useful to all explorers of consciousness.” — Deepak Chopra, M.D., author of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

“Seth was one of my first metaphysical teachers. He remains a constant source of knowledge and inspiration in my life.” — Marianne Williamson, author of A Return to Love

“I would like to see the Seth books as required reading for anyone on their spiritual pathway. The amazing in-depth information in the Seth books is as relevant today as it was in the early ’70s when Jane Roberts first channeled this material.” — Louise Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life

“Seth’s teachings had an important influence on my life and work, and provided one of the initial inspirations for writing Creative Visualization.” — Shakti Gawain, author of Creative Visualization

“The Seth books were of great benefit to me on my spiritual journey and helped me to see another way of looking at the world.” — Gerald G. Jampolsky, author of Love is Letting Go of Fear

“As you read Seth’s words, you will gain more than just new ideas. Seth’s energy comes through every page — energy that expands your consciousness and changes your thoughts about the nature of reality.” — Sanaya Roman, author of Living with Joy

4.0 out of 5 stars MOVING BUT LESS DEEP THAN OTHER SETH BOOKS 6 Mar. 2003
By A Customer
I have yet to read a Seth book that is other than seriously thought-provoking and at times profound. This book however seems to me on the one hand to gain in intimacy and emotional content insofar as it deals with Janes final months and days, but I found that the lengthy notes by Robert Butts, frankly telling me more than I wanted to know about Janes medication, detracted from the Seth material that I was really interested in. I found the second section, "Starting Over" to be of most interest and Seth sketched ways of dealing with difficulty, including health problems. Keep the tissues handy as you experience the tension between Seths advice and Janes struggle with her demons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seth's last words 8 April 1998
By A Customer
This is the last officlal Seth book, dictated during Jane Roberts' final months of life. Seth's insights have a special poignance because of the context in which they were recorded. Rob's detailed notes, as always, add to the richness of the book because the material is seen to arise from the challenges of a life lived to the fullest. Seth and Jane always stressed the connection between "inner" and "outer" events; the notes make this connection clear and add immeasurably to the humanity of Jane and Rob. The photographs of Jane and Rob at various times in their lives, photos of their parents, and reproductions of some of Rob's paintings, add to our understanding of these two remarkably creative people and the "entity" who added much to that creativity.

5.0 out of 5 stars As relevant now as when it was first written 10 Jun. 2009
Jane Roberts' Seth books never fail to deliver. Full of wisdom, guidance and practical ways of enhancing and re-creating a healthy living experience. As one would expect, there are some real nuggets contained within the channellings which are as relevant today as they were when the book was first written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful insights into healing 28 Oct. 2006
By Happyfamily VINE VOICE
This book details Jane Roberts stay at hospital before she died. It is a mixture of channeling from Seth regarding health (including Jane's) and also a diary of her days in hopsital recorded by her husband. Greatly recommended if you are going to hospital or recovering from an illness/accident at home, for you will find it full of insights into your own healing process. I also recommend Abraham channeled by Esther Hicks, especially the workshop CDs which are wonderful to listen to if you do not fancy reading a book.

By A Customer
For Seth/Jane fans, this one is as good as ever. Useful insights, and the usual helpful notes from Rob. The book also includes black and white photos of Jane and Rob when they were young, as well as Jane's parents, and Rob's parents.
Jane was speaking for Seth right to the very end..
