Charming little volume on the how and why of keeping backyard chickens 1 Sept. 2013
By L. Cameron - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I bought it as a gift for a friend who has been yearning for a backyard henhouse. She is a card-carrying member of Sierra Club and the Slow Food movement. This little book may make the final convincing arguments: keeping chickens can be good for your blood pressure (as soothing as playing with a pet), good for your garden (think of the compost!), good for your diet, and better quality of life for the birds who provide the eggs. Handsomely typeset and attractively bound, it was a worthy unbirthday present.
