Book Description

6 Nov 2007
Being fertile and fruitful can mean giving birth to a child -- but to have a fertile soul means to give birth to the true self a woman wants to be: to live a life filled with passion, strength, joy, and adventure. In The Way of the Fertile Soul, Dr. Randine Lewis outlines ten ancient Chinese medical and Taoist "secrets" that hold the little-known key to successfully conceiving babies, new dreams, and a fulfilling life for women at any phase in their lives. The Way of the Fertile Soul encourages women to strive toward health, abundance, and a fruitful, joyous approach to life. By using diagnostic questionnaires, qi gong exercises, and guided meditations to help the reader understand how the elements of nature express themselves in her body, mind, and spirit, The Way of the Fertile Soul provides the tools to greatly increase a woman's chance of conceiving, identify imbalances, reduce stress, increase energy, and uncover her intrinsic creativity and express it fully.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than fertile 6 Nov 2007
By T. Hall - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
For anyone who has ever considered their fertility as more than baby making. I have never had a child, and yet never considered myself fully fertile until I came across this book. The Way of the Fertile Soul makes me look at my LIFE in a whole new way. Using the simple yet elegant model of traditional Chinese medicine, a woman can help give her life new meaning while she may be considering having children, choose not to have children, or if she has tried and hasn't been able to. I love the natural diagrams and illustrations. It makes so much sense!

3.0 out of 5 stars not what I was expecting 2 Mar 2008
By Theodora - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I bought this book after having read "the infertility cure" and I was expecting the same style: a practical, compassionate, infertility related book. "The way of the fertile soul", however, is a very "out there" kind of book, focused on the theory of ancient chinese medicine and no practical information. For example, it tells you that you have to stop having negative thoughts, but never bothers with practical advice on how to stop your brain from producing them.
I thought it was a good book to read if you want to expand your horizons and learn about something completely new (at least for us westerners), but it is by no means an instruction book on how to accomplish the things she is talking about. Most importantly it IS NOT A FERTILITY BOOK, at least not in the narrow sense of fertility as creating a baby.
For women like me, who want to buy it to expand the information they got from her other book (the infertility cure), I would say don't bother, it has nothing to offer you...
