Pure genius 31 Aug 2006
Format:Paperback
I too have read several of Geoff's books, all of which have had a profound affect on my thinking, and (more importantly) on my business.

Compared to more famous titles like "Who moved my Cheese?", this little gem has far more to offer. Geoff Burch proves in this book that he can weave a great story, as well as give you ideas and insights that will change your life and your career.

This book isn't just recommended, it's essential reading.

Another corker! 4 April 2005
Format:Paperback
Have several of Geoff's other works (two are in my top five favourite business books); this is just as helpful, but in a different way. Rather than giving the reader a lot of information covering different commercial areas, this one builds up a step-by-step guide to selling. Mixed in with the customary humour are some gems for anyone who wants to improve their sales - have already made more than ten times the list price with just one of the ideas.

I've read Burch's prior works and I've loved each of them. Here Geoff explains 'how to become a salesman' through the story of a dog learning the ropes of sheep-herding.
The idea is bizarre but the story conveys the essence of salesmanship in simple, no-nonsense sections.
I encourage entrepreneurial activity (and run several events along these lines here in Brighton). I lend Way of the Dog to people who want to learn salesmanship but have no prior experience - it is a great primer without any assumption about prior domain knowledge.
If you don't know much about selling but want to learn then you'll learn some techniques and receive some inspiration from this book.
